LA Urban Farms is a family business founded in 2013. Our company is passionate about sustainability, the health of people, our planet, local, organic, nutrient dense and delicious food. Our mission is to be a leader in the local organic food growing movement and a model for what is possible in our community. We aim to inspire people to grow their own food and to empower them to look at the world with new eyes and to see all the untapped potential in the unused spaces around them to grow local healthy food.
Our Vision: A Sustainable Solution For Growing Your Own Food In An Urban Setting
By the year 2050, it is estimated 10 billion people will be living on our planet and 70% of these people will be living in cities. We need sustainable solutions to be able to feed our growing population. Vertical Gardening is one viable solution for growing food in a sustainable way in an urban setting!
The sustainable vertical garden technology that we use is called Tower Garden®. Tower Gardens can grow fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers in just 21-28 days using 90% less water and 90% less land than traditional gardening all without the use of any soil or any harmful chemicals. By growing up vertically, we can maximize our harvest yields with a minimal environmental impact on our planet using less water, less land, less time and less resources.
